On the edge of the Portes du Soleil, at 1172m, lies Les Gets - a typical Savoyard village. The village is smaller and more personable than some of its larger better-known neighbours, but offers good access to its slopes and the main Portes du Soleil ski area. Morzine is the closest of the better known resorts in this massive ski area.
Les Gets is going green! The resort has replaced diesel generators on ski lifts with solar panels and is making sure that its snow canons are operated without additives. The piste bashers are also using bio fuel in a bid to protect the environment.back to top

Les Gets has a good range of bars although is a quieter resort, compared with some of the other 'party' resorts of 'Val' or Meribel. If you are looking for all night dancing then nearby Morzine may be a better bet!back to top
The selection of restaurants is limited but the quality is good and the village has a surprising variety; local, pizzas and other Italian dishes.
Le Pic bar and restaurant is situated opposite the Mont Chery telecabine. They have live music, new menus, wine tasting, seasonaire evenings, huge screen tv sporting events and special offers so worth a visit. Their 'Pic Up Bus' will be on hand to collect and return you to and from your chalet (small charge unless dining).back to top
There are a number of other activities to be done in resort. There is an open air ice rink, a paragliding school offering tandam flights, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing and winter walking. There is a bowling alley + billiards and a cinema as well as a good range of shops.back to top
